Steak and mashed potato. An american classic. This dish is easy, it is safe, you feel right at home because more than likely you have had this many many times before. We have only two things to make, although I added some vegetables at the end; but cooked in the simplest form with a ton of flavor. The steak is simple, salt and pepper and a cast iron skillet. Half way through we throw some thyme and garlic with a little butter to take up a notch – gourmet it up son! Watch the video to see how we cooked the rest!

Mashed Potato
– 4-5 medium potatoes
– 2-3 green onions
– 2 garlic cloves
– 2 tbs of butter
– 1/4 – 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
– Salt and pepper to taste

New York Strip
– New York Strip Steak
– 2 tbsp of olive oil
– 2 tbsp of butter
– Thyme
– 1-2 garlic cloves
– Salt and pepper

Vegetables – Carrots, mushrooms, and asparagus
– Baby carrots
– Mushrooms
– Asparagus
– 1/4-1/2 cup of beer (I like IPA – A hoppy beer gives the whole thing a great flavor)
– 2 tbs of olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
